Position Profile:
As a Broking Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing administrative support Brokers in aspects of submitting marketing proposals to underwriters. This role is responsible for reviewing, proofreading, and calculating adjustments of premiums on policies and other insurance documents.
Distinctive Client Value:
* Providing assistance to Brokers in preparing and submitting marketing proposals to underwriters;
* Processing new policies and policy renewals, changes, additions, deletions and cancellations;
* Answering and screening incoming calls - handling general inquiries and/or take messages as needed;
* Composing and distributing routine correspondence;
* Calculating adjustments and premiums on policies and other insurance documents;
* Communicating directly with underwriters to follow up or obtain additional information;
* Reviewing and proofreading all assignments, obtaining proper signatures and dispensing as appropriate;
* Leads by example by demonstrating and sharing with all lines of business the importance of best practices; and
* Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Must have strong computer skills and be proficient with the Microsoft Office Package.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;
* Strong organization skills and the ability to prioritize under pressure of competing deadlines;
* Minimum of 1 -2 years general administrative or insurance industry experience preferred;
* General insurance knowledge is an asset;
* Ability to work collaboratively as a key member of a team and independently with minimum supervision;
* Client relationship focused;
Education and Professional Development:
* Post Secondary Education Degree or Equivalent is preferred but not required;
* Level 1 License preferred or willingness to obtain;
* Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development including insurance courses/certifications/designations (I.e. General Insurance License/ Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP), Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) or Certified Risk Management (CRM))
