Senior Manager, Bid and Communication

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead project management efforts for the RFP response / bid process, in line with Aon’s Bid Management best practice
  • Organize and lead proposal meetings to ensure a response strategy is established and implemented
  • Learn about Aon’s differentiators / key messages and ensure these are reflected in the proposal / bid response, which may include responsibility for writing or editing sections of the report
  • Provide strategic and content direction for the preparation of proposals and presentations to achieve a response that is in-line with the defined approach
  • Ensure deliverables are visually impactful, including participating in design software training for Adobe InDesign and Illustrator
  • Write, revise, proofread, and transmit proposals in response to RFPs and presentations specific to the prospect/client situation
  • Continue to develop a practical, working knowledge of our health solutions, services, and technology
  • Lead oral presentation brainstorming and development sessions, in addition to conducting rehearsals with client-facing colleagues as needed
  • Identify trends and engage in process improvement efforts centrally and nationally where necessary
  • Leverage best practices across all offices 
  • Lead and manage the communication projects to continuously improve the communication tools available for clients
  • Creation of specific communication tools related to client’s benefits program

 

Requirements

  • University degree and/ or a professional qualification (preferably Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field) from a renowned university.
  • 5+ years professional work experience in bid management required; health and/or benefits industry experience required
  • Health knowledge strongly preferred
  • Solid project management skills and organisational skills, including ability to adapt to changing time pressures/flexibility
  • Significant background in the development of custom strategic content (leveraging strategic messaging/value propositions) and strong editing skills required
  • Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, meeting all deadlines
  • Experience with oral presentations, partnering with a designer and the client team required
  • Ability to learn quickly and show flexibility to adapt in a growing group, working both independently and with a team mentality required
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills required
  • Ability to voice an opinion with peer group and senior colleagues
  • Advanced knowledge of Word and Proposal Management Software (SharePoint, Qvidian, etc) strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Illustrator software a bonus, but not compulsory
  • Strong computer/systems literacy including first class Word and PowerPoint skills Proven
