Aon Is Looking For A Senior Actuarial Consultant—Retirement Solutions Public Sector Team


As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Core Retirement and Investments business group in New York, NY or Chicago, IL. The position can be worked as a virtual arrangement from anywhere in the Northeast or Midwest with travel as needed.  


Your Impact As A Senior Actuarial Consultant—Retirement Solutions Public Sector Team


Successful candidates will focus primarily on leading and selling Aon’s Retirement consulting services to clients and prospects in the public sector. Additionally, colleagues in this role are expected to lead and grow client relationships in the public sector—including having the ability to influence and develop service offerings that ensure continued client value and growth.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Business development and marketing in public sector
  • Leadership in client meetings, prospect sales and finalist meetings, and in broader consulting and sales
  • Attendance at public sector conferences, resulting in relationships and sales
  • Development and coaching for junior colleagues
  • Review of work for both technical accuracy and reasonability
  • Development of innovative ideas and solutions which add client value
  • Travel and flexibility to meet client and firm needs


You Bring Knowledge and Expertise


Required Experience:

  • 10+ years of public sector actuarial work experience 
  • Associate or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries
  • Public Pension and OPEB plan funding requirements
  • Public Pension and OPEB plan accounting requirements
  • Proven track record of business development and actuarial consulting in public sector
  • Understanding of sales and marketing for public sector
  • Excellent verbal and written communication expertise
  • Ability to grow, manage and develop teams
  • Detailed oriented


Preferred Experience:

  • ProVal
  • Proven track record in actuarial consulting



  • Academic degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or similar
