UK Product Implementation Analyst  (London, UK)

 

The Product Implementation Analyst will support the discretionary investment practice of Aon which in the U.K. is also called Delegated Consulting Services ("DCS").  The Product Implementation Analyst will primarily concentrate on supporting the discretionary investment services conducted by Risk  Management Services Limited ("HRMSL") the U.K. fiduciary management arm of Aon’s Investment Consulting practice.

 

HRMSL's role is to invest client money in a risk-controlled portfolio that contains the best ideas of Aon that is bespoke to the client’s needs.  HRMSL's client base is predominantly UK defined benefit pension schemes, but we are currently expanding into continental European markets for defined benefit plans as well as global defined contribution opportunities.  When engaged by a client, DCS will take over the day-to-day control of all investment actions for our clients, responding to market events, altering the underlying investment managers, hedging risk and generating performance.  Pension fund trustees effectively delegate responsibility of short, medium and long-term investment decisions to HRMSL, from manager selection and asset allocation to risk modelling, liability hedging and plan oversight.  Our focus is on delivering client solutions utilising tools from across the investment universe.

 

The HRMSL Product/Business Change team provides independent assistance to co-ordinate the tasks associated with different initiatives related to product changes within HRMSL.

 

Your impact as a Product Implementation Analyst

 

Fund-of-fund launches/ terminations/ consolidations:

  • Internal co-ordination, including approvals from senior management and key stakeholders;
  • HRMSL representative to third parties (eg. Administrator, custodian, legal advisors);
  • Updating of fund documentation (eg. Prospectus, Supplements);
  • Completion of other necessary documentation (eg. Account opening packs, exemption letters, letter of authorities, online access forms);
  • Requesting and monitoring regulatory approval from the Irish regulator;
  • Scheduling the appropriate coding of internal systems with the Data Team;
  • Exceptional requests for Director approval when the need arises to deviate from terms stipulated in the Prospectus.
  • Liquidations and revocations, including co-ordination, budgets and revocation charges, disbursement of assets and account closure)

Ongoing co-ordination of Aon and sub-investment manager legal teams:

  • HRMSL representative to third parties (eg. custodian, sub-investment manager, US FATCA team, legal and tax advisors);
  • Third party agreements (eg. Updates to Sub-Investment Manager Agreements).
  • Market openings and re-registrations to facilitate trading, including some complex markets (eg. India, China B Shares, Hong Kong Connect);
  • Tax reclaim market documentation;
  • Requesting and monitoring regulatory approval from the Irish regulator;
  • Terminations, including co-ordination of sub-investment manager notification, liaison with Portfolio Management Team re: transition and account closure.

Pooled fund onboarding

  • Facilitating global product development by enabling new business and acting as a resource to the delegated initiatives/ product team. Products can range from the creation of tax efficient pooled fund structures and operationally efficient client solutions to any changes required to an existing investment vehicle

Business as Usual

  • Monthly reporting to the AIFM;
  • Document ownership (eg. HRMSL authorised signatory lists and addendums, sections of the HRMSL Procedures Manual);
  • Ad hoc (eg. Prospectus updates, changes in dealing terms, requests for operational efficiency, share class and account name changes, AIMF reporting);
  • Attendance at team meetings.

 

You bring knowledge and expertise

  • Fund-of-fund exposure
  • Understanding of fiduciary management
  • Understanding of trade order management
  • Awareness of the regulatory environment (eg. AIFMD, MiFID)
  • Functional knowledge of the vocabulary used by the asset management industry
  • Experience of working with large third-party providers
  • Exemplary project management skills (workload management, task prioritisation, organisation and co-ordination)
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
