Our UK Consulting Public Sector Team (PST) is seeking a Public Sector Benefit Support, preferably based in Bristol.
Training will be provided to assist the successful candidate to evolve into this support role.

About the Role
Your impact as a Public-Sector Benefit Support:
Carry out client related work as required, which will generally be supporting the PST consultants and actuaries, expected to be mainly in the areas of Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) benefit consultancy (often supporting pensions administration type tasks), which may include areas such as:
Data work to feed into benefit or actuarial processes or as part of data cleansing exercises
Carrying out scheme member calculations and processes as well as peer reviewing calculations
Assisting and delivering training and providing guidance to colleagues to support them in delivering bulk projects such as data cleansing, backlogs of benefit calculations, trivial commutation and frozen refund processing
Assisting with the creation of presentations and training sessions, including using PowerPoint
Assisting with the creation of models and tools, including using Excel
Supporting the process for compliance checks of client’s processes and practices, such as against Pension Regulator’s requirements
Assisting with the writing of tender submissions, along with aligned duties to this process e.g. proof reading
Helping with high earner calculations relating to pension tax implications
Liaising with the actuarial team on valuation data quality
Contributing to continuous review of policies and administration processes, such as service level agreements and audits of work.
Analysing data and outputs from governance effectiveness questionnaires
Support at client meetings
Keeping abreast of regulatory changes and the impact of these, including assisting in developing new benefits services and writing client briefings.
Your skills and qualifications will ideally include;
A high level of technical knowledge of the LGPS gained via administering the LGPS, including experience in processing a wide range of LGPS benefit calculations.
Existing proficiency with standard technology - Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint is essential, and a high level of proficiency in Excel would be helpful.
Strong communication skills - both written and verbal and with all levels of seniority
Excellent planning and organisational skills, prioritises work well and uses initiative to stay ahead of deadlines
Ability to multi task and respond to changing priorities
