Senior Business Analyst (Claims)

This role will provide the candidate an opportunity to work as part of a global Business Analyst group spanning multiple Agile Product Delivery teams. Specifically, this role is focussed on our new global Claims Management product – delivering a web-based solution that supports global claims handling teams to manage claims for commercial clients, from notification of loss through to settlement including business intelligence and client advocacy. The solution will be built on an industry-leading 3rd party low-code platform and integrated into our Commercial Risk ecosystem. The role will support the definition of requirements and data mappings required to support the delivery and migration of claims from various countries and practice groups into the new platform.

What the day will look like

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Performing assessment and analysis of new requirements, defining their functional and data impact within our claims management system and integrating with the broader technological ecosystem.
  • Designing and optimizing end-to-end process flows and functional features across the value chain of claims management, from notification of loss through to settlement and payment.
  • Actively engaging in the SDLC from UX and UI design to integration with backend APIs, Data Marts, and Corporate Systems, utilizing cutting-edge technologies and frameworks.
  • Documenting technical requirements and processes to support the definition of work for application developers and data professionals, using detailed technical specifications and user stories.
  • Supporting data migration efforts: legacy system data / model review, data mapping, requirement definition/review for data migration framework as part of strategic system migrations using ETL tools and best practices.
  • Co-leading Agile ceremonies to refine requirements and define features to user story level, ensuring successful delivery of a globally scalable solution on an industry-leading low-code platform using modern Agile methodologies.
  • Serving as a liaison and escalation point for product owners, developers, business and technical stakeholders in the field, providing technical support and ensuring alignment with technological standards and practices.
  • Taking personal responsibility for the completion and delivery of technical requirements, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • 5+ years of experience in a Business / System Analyst or similar role, preferably with a focus on commercial risk insurance, claims management systems or finance sector.
  • Proven expertise in supporting Agile Scrum delivery teams by translating business needs into technical system requirements.
  • Strong proficiency in system process modeling (e.g., BPMN), data flow diagramming, and designing decision logic for automated workflows.
  • Experience with system integration, including API design, backend connectivity, and familiarity with UX/UI implementation from a technical perspective.
  • Solid data literacy, including hands-on experience with data profiling, schema design, mapping, and analysis to support system functionality.
  • Familiarity with configuring and delivering solutions on workflow or low-code platforms (e.g., Appian, Pega, UiPath, Power Automate) is a plus.
  • College degree - Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline are preferred.
