Head of Brokerage – Cayman Islands
Aon is recruiting for a Director and Lead of its Aon Cayman broking practice, Aon Risk Solutions (Cayman) Ltd. Reporting to the Managing Director, The successful candidate will lead the Aon Risk Solutions (Cayman) Ltd. (“ARSC”) team and broking strategy.
This role requires a seasoned leader with strong technical expertise in both commercial property & Casualty (“P&C”) and Employee Benefits/Health (“EB”) insurance, exceptional relationship management skills, and a track record of delivering profitable growth in a regulated, client-focused environment.
This is an office-based role in the Cayman Islands.

What the day will look like
Business Leadership
- Drive the growth of P&C and EB lines, ensuring profitability, sustainability, and market competitiveness
- Monitor and respond to market trends, client needs, and regulatory changes to maintain a leading market position.
- Deliver products and services in line with agreed strategy, objectives and targets
- Ensure broking practices undertaken and colleague conduct is aligned with legal and regulatory requirements, and consistent with Aon policies, values and behaviours
- Provide clients with Aon and market insight communications on a regular basis
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the Cayman/international insurance broking industry and associated trends
- Represent ARSC on Cayman Insurance Association
- Drive the development of tailored program/product/facility offerings
- Oversee Aon Re wholesale partner relationships and joint placements
- Ensure ARSC’s continued compliance and good standing with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority
Portfolio and Client Management
- Lead and grow a personal portfolio of key clients, delivering tailored insurance solutions and maintaining high client retention levels.
- Provide strategic advice and guidance to clients on complex risks and insurance needs, ensuring excellent service and value delivery
- Lead high-level client meetings and negotiations, ensuring alignment with the company’s client service standards.
- Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities to enhance client value and profitability
People Leadership
- Lead ARSC by example across client and new business broking
- Foster a culture of performance, collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional development.
- Ensure appropriate recruitment, training, and succession planning strategies are in place to support long-term growth.
- Ensure standard methodology and innovation are fully disseminated and shared across all client servicing teams
- Motivate and develop your team towards the accomplishment of business goals and objectives, as well as their own personal career development
Proposition and Product Development
- Drive strategy for program solutions/facilities and their utilisation
- Identification and execution of proposition/product development opportunities
- Compliance with regulatory requirements and business procedures
- Ensure the function is supervising and maintaining standards of business conduct consistent with legislative & regulatory requirements
- Act as ARSC director (regulatory approval required)
- Competence in commercial operations and negotiation skills
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Degree in Insurance, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field – highly desirable.
- Professional insurance qualifications such as ACII, CPCU, or equivalent is highly preferred.
- Continual dedication to professional growth and industry standard methodologies.
Experience
- Extensive experience gained within insurance broking with confirmed experience in a senior leadership role, ideally within a PLC or large regional brokerage.
- Strong technical property (CAT and construction an advantage) & casualty product knowledge
- Strong technical health insurance/employee benefits product and market knowledge – desirable.
- Strong property and casualty programs & facilities knowledge/experience
- Experience managing P&L accountability with a demonstrable record of achieving growth and profitability targets.
- Consistent record in leading, motivating, and supporting a successful broking team
- Proven interpersonal skills, capable of dealing with multinational and global clients, business stakeholders, and external bodies
- Knowledge of the Caribbean/Cayman insurance market would be an advantage
- Background in regulated environments with CIMA or similar regulatory frameworks – highly desirable.
