What your day will look like
You will be supporting Aon Mergers and Acquisitions and Transaction Solutions Team (AMATS) from compliance perspective. The primary responsibility of the Compliance Specialist role will be ongoing support in terms of business conflict of interest process with elements of the administrative duties.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Initial compliance process for all AMATS projects in UK and EMEA region, including timely review of files, adherence to procedures and reporting to senior members;
- Ongoing control for proceedings related to Market Abuse Regulations for all insider projects;
- Run various audit projects to ensure that we are compliant with Aon internal protocols and external requirements;
- Conduct BCOI (Business Conflict of Interest) check for all due diligence projects in EMEA;
- Support for initiatives related to compliance process improvement, including testing of new tools, changes to process steps;
- Run training sessions to present the compliance framework;
- Acting as a point of contact/liaison with internal stakeholders on different level of seniority/from different parts of business;
- Prepare set of reports with key organization metrics for senior leadership;
- Any ad hoc duties, requests and initiatives to ensure the proper workflow.

Aon’s M&A and Transaction Solutions (AMATS) team provides both advisory and consultancy services and a wide range of M&A, project finance and other transaction solutions to clients across EMEA and worldwide. Our solution lines include Risk and Insurance, Lenders’ Insurance Advisory, Human Capital, Transaction Solutions and Digital (Cyber and Intellectual Property).
Skills and experience that will lead to success
We’re looking for someone with analytical skills, attention to detail as well as outstanding communication skills. Someone who is able to work independently as well as a part of a supportive team, help to manage multiple projects and engagements simultaneously and prioritise work. The ability to work in environment which is deadline driven and attitude for articulating (verbally and in writing) technical or complicated issues in a concise manner is crucial.
- Educated to University level
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills both oral and written essential
- Command of English language at B2 or higher essential
- Experience in compliance/audit environment strongly desired
- 1-2 years of previous administration and office experience in a professional, client orientated environment
- Fully competent with MS Office and MS Outlook
- Willingness to travel
- Some interest in business news and M&A activity
